The interest in Halloween started in 2010, when the family decorated their house as a haunted house for Alexandra's Halloween party. In 2013, Michael built a horror mausoleum out of styrofoam, which he placed in front of the front door. They caught the attention of the people in the neighborhood, who decided to come back next year. The following year, they were greeted by even more decorations, and word spread. In 2015, the first labyrinth was set up outside the house. It was filled with different animatronics. This was great fun for many. In 2019, they were named The Dreadful Minds, and rumors about the labyrinth began to spread to all the neighboring communities. It resulted in almost 1000 visitors to their labyrinth which was then in the garage outside their house. Although Halloween has been a celebration in Norway for many years, Halloween has only been associated with trick or treating. For the family, trick or treating was not enough, and with inspiration from the United States, they introduced a rather different Halloween celebration. What began with a skeleton and a couple of pumpkins as decorations, and a few dozen visitors, has now developed into a large cultural event with thousands of visitors!

The brain behind it all is 24-year-old Alexandra, nicknamed The Mastermind. She plans and designs the event and labyrinth, draw the labyrinth's floor plan, creates props and masks, captures and edits photos and videos, makes the trailer, and runs the website and social media. She was 9 years old the first time they decorated the house as a haunted house. When she was 18, the organization was founded, and she named it The Dreadful Minds, and since then she has played a big part in the event. She has always loved Halloween, horror and the paranormal. Not much scares her, as she grew up in a real-life haunted house, experiencing hauntings her whole childhood. Being so open to the paranormal is due to her psychic abilities. Her favorite horror movies are Insidious, The Conjuring and Annabelle movies. She also loves to play horror games, and her favorites are Alien: Isolation, Visage and Resident Evil. It's from movies and games that she draws a lot of inspiration when designing the labyrinth. She loves to scare people, and during the event, you can probably spot her stalking or running after people. She is also a cosplayer and self-portrait artist. Her creativeness shines through her work. You can see some of her creations pictured below, as both the Venom mask and Clicker mask is made by her, as well as the The Crooked Man hat, and painting of The Nun.

The one who started it all and introduced Halloween into the family is 51-year-old Michael. He has loved horror ever since watching A Nightmare on Elm Street when he was young. His previously regular role in the maze were as the clown Pennywise from the movie IT. In the later years he's been taking on new roles, like Freddy Krueger, and latest Beetlejuice. He has been nicknamed The Maker. With many different materials, he craft the walls and props for the labyrinth, and in 2024 he created a replica of the Iron Throne from Game of Thrones, which showcases his incredible talent in crafting. He has the main responsibility during the assembling and disassembling of the labyrinth and event, and during the event, you can probably spot him creeping around the corners before jumping out, sending people "running for their lives".
